GHMC takes up road widening works
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Wednesday took up various road widening works and construction of new projects and in the process, 36 big trees have been translocated.
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Wednesday took up various road widening works and construction of new projects and in the process, 36 big trees have been translocated.
GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy held a review meeting with all Zonal Commissioners and senior officials of the Biodiversity wing.
While interacting with the officials, the Commissioner said that the GHMC is planning to plant one crore plantations this year under Harithaharam programme.
The Commissioner further said that the GHMC is involving Corporate companies to take up programmes under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to develop parks, central medians and traffic islands.
Avenue plantation at 101 areas, green curtains at 20 areas and green ways at 14 areas are planned in this year.
