Hyderabad: Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir dared Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao to order a CBI probe into the alleged involvement of the Telangana RashtraSamithi (TRS) leaders in the land scams and also to initiate action on even Congress leaders if he had proof of their involvement inthe multi-crore scam.

Addressing the media on Friday, along with MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, Shabbir Ali said it had become a habit for TRS leaders to blame everything on the Congress and its leaders.

“We will give evidence and proof of involvement of TRS leaders to the CBI and let the TRS give the evidence on Congress leaders and let the truth come out,” he said.

Contending that the government action had failed to unravel the mystery of the mindboggling land scam, he said it appeared as if the government had dug up a mountain just to track a rat hole.

“Since Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is self-certifying and boasting that not even a metre of land has been lost by the government, why is he scared or hesitant to order a CBI probe and get a clean chit,” he asked.

He said that it had become a routine affair with the TRS leaders to leak out sensitive information blaming the Opposition for its failures and later water down the entire episode as a damp squib.

It was high time that the Chief Minister explained why the crucial report of the S K Sinha Committee was not made public, he said, and demanded that it should be placed in the public domain.

Responding to the comments on Congress leadership by Minister K T Rama Rao, Shabbir Ali cautioned that Rama Rao was loud-mouthing on Congress and its leaders and should control his tongue.

Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy said Chandrashekar Rao should teach his son Rama Rao the correct path of public conduct as he was intoxicated with absolute power.

Condemning the recent comment of Rama Rao on Congress leaders of Khammam district, he said that there was no smile on the faces of the poor in the district but on the face of the defectors and migrants to the TRS.

“Soon the TRS will see the impact of its act of handcuffing the poor chilli farmers for demanding right MSP,” he added.
