The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has extended its support to NDA’s presidential candidate Ramnath Kovind soon after his name was announced on Monday afternoon. 

Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has extended its support to NDA’s presidential candidate Ramnath Kovind soon after his name was announced on Monday afternoon.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s announcement came in response to a call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had telephoned him after the BJP deciding the candidature of Kovind as NDA candidate. The PM requested KCR to extend the support for Kovind candidature.

According to the CMO office, the PM told KCR: “As per your suggestion, we have decided upon a Dalit candidate for the presidential post and we request your support for the candidate.”

"A prominent Dalit as President is a good decision and we support his candidature," KCR said.
