Hyderabad: Prominent social activist Prof Haragopal came down on the government for lack of appropriate policies for development of Hyderabad city resulting in the State capital becoming ‘not safe’ for women, besides depriving the poor living in the city of education, healthcare and civic amenities.

He was addressing a meeting organised by the Communist Party of India (CPI), city unit, on the development of Hyderabad to find solutions for problems faced by the people here on Thursday.

“People had high hopes on improvement of infrastructure and other facilities after the formation of the new State. However, the current government has been following the policies pursued in the past, resulting chaos on all fronts,” he pointed out.
