Warangal: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is all set to expand its mobile network services on the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border, said BSNL Principal General Manager K Narender. With an objective to serve the interior regions of the State abutting Chhattisgarh border, a cell phone tower will be set up at Devadula project site on the banks of river Godavari, he said. The cell tower would be commissioned in the next two weeks, he added.

Speaking to media persons in Warangal on Saturday, Narender said that in addition to the expansion plans, the BSNL has also been coming up with new packages for its customers. The minimum speed of broadband internet services has been increased from 2 mbps to 4 mbps, he said.

He further said the Under Fibre to The Home (FTTH) internet connectivity the company is offering 10 mbps broadband services at Rs 550, 15 mbps at Rs 645 and 40 mbps at Rs 1,045, with unlimited usage. Under cellular services, the BSNL is offering 3G 3GB data service for 60 days at Rs 333 and unlimited calls to any network.

As part of Universal Service Obligation the BSNL is providing internet services at all the District Collectorates and at 40 mandal headquarters of the erstwhile Warangal district. The company is also planning to offer high speed wi-fi services at all the District Collectorates and other important public offices soon. Nine locations like the district court complex, public gardens, shopping complexes and others will have wi-fi connectivity.

The BSNL is intending to conduct special camps in villages to link telephone connections to Aadhaar card number. In urban areas the users can visit any customer service centre and submit their Aadhaar card photocopy, which has now become mandatory.
