After several rescue operations to get the 18-month old girl, Chinnari alive out of the borewell in Ekkareddyguda village in Ranga Reddy district, it all turned futile as the girl succumbed to death. The police, the fire department, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel and a team of ONGC officials had been involved in a massive operation for three days to extricate the child who had accidentally slipped into an open borewell.

Even though a parallel trench was dug the borewell hole with the help of earth excavating machines, advanced techniques were implemented, yet the little girl could not be saved. Telangana Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy who was supervising the rescue operations confirmed the death of the child as the rescue workers pulled out the dead body.

The State government has announced to provide assistance to the affected family.

The girl accidentally fell in the nearly 450-feet-deep open borewell in a field at Ekkareddyguda village of Chevella mandal on Thursday around 7.15 PM and since the rescue operations had been in motion.
