Hyderabad: The construction of 120 flats intended for MLAs and MLCs will be completed by Dasara festival, according to officials of the Roads and Buildings. The construction of the flats was to have been completed by December 2016. But, there was delay due to various factors and it would take three more months to make the flats ready for occupation.

These flats are being built in an area of 8 lakh sq feet at Hyderguda at a cost of Rs 166 crore. These flats would be equipped with all necessary facilities. Presently there are 120 members in Assembly, 40 members in the Legislative Council.

There are four blocks and each block has 12 floors. The added advantage in this new complex is that all these flats will have separate accommodation for the staff, including servants and security personnel. It will also have ample parking facility, gym, swimming pool and facilities for indoor games.

The government entrusted the works to Roads and Buildings Department. The construction work began about two years ago. R&B Minister T Nageswara Rao reviewed the works with the officials on Monday and asked them to complete it on war- footing. The officials informed the Minister that till now 90 per cent of the works were completed and added that it would take another three months to hand over the flats.
