Ramakrishnapuram lake spews foam
The heavy showers that lashed city in the past two days resulted in Ramakrishnapuram Lake foaming just like the Varthur Lake in Bengaluru. Inhabitants close to the Ramakrishnapuram flyover alerted secretaries of Resident Welfare Associations who gathered at the site on Monday. Ravi, a resident said the unbearable stench was already unbearable and now this foam has added to the woes.

The locals alerted the Pollution Control Board and also gave a representation to the Corporator. Officers Colony and environmental activists expressed serious concern on lake pollution. The pollution in the lake is caused due to chemical waste disposal, animal, human waste dumping, direct drainage diversion to the lake and etc.
