Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills police on Tuesday declared that there was no foul play in the death of makeup artiste Sirisha. The police came out with the statement after questioning RJ Photography owner V Rajeev Kumar and his friend B Sravan Kumar for two days.

Rajeev and Sravan were taken into police custody on Monday for two days for questioning them to tie up certain loose ends in the case.

It may be recalled Sirisha was found hanging at her workplace in the early hours of June 13 after she along with her employer Rajeev and friend Sravan returned from Kukunoorpally where they had a meeting sub-inspector P Prabhakar Reddy.

A day later, Prabhakar Reddy shot himself to death, fearing criminal proceedings against him for allegedly misbehaving with Sirisha in his residential quarters, police had said.

Meanwhile, police recorded the statement of Tejaswini who is learnt to have told the police that she was indeed in love with Rajeev and wanted to marry him. It was due to this reason she got herself transferred from Bengaluru to Hyderabad, she told police.

Tejaswini also told police that Rajeev’s Facebook post with Sirisha’s photos aroused suspicion in her. She went to RJ Photography office and quarrelled with Sirisha. She also told police that she met Rajeev’s parents seeking permission for her marriage with their son, but they refused.

Tejaswini further told police that she did abuse Sirisha several times hoping to get her out of her way, so that she could marry Rajeev. She, however, told police that Rajeev had ditched her which made her angry.

Meanwhile, Rajeev is learnt to have told police during interrogation that he was fed up with the fight between Sirisha and Tejaswini and that he wanted to get rid of both of them, so that he could marry another girl chosen by his parents.

He is also learnt to have admitted before the police that he had had affairs with two other girls before he developed intimacy with Sirisha and Tejaswini.

Denying allegations of foul play, west zone Deputy Commissioner of Police A Venkateswara Rao said that Sirisha had committed suicide. “We will clarify any doubts her family members have if they approach us,” he said.

About whether there was any sexual assault on Sirisha, the DCP said that they had sent vaginal swabs to FSL and that they were waiting for the report.
