Congress leader Jagga Reddy was arrested by the police at Sadasivpet in Sangareddy on Monday for leading a huge crowd of over 5,000 people to occupy vacant house sites.

The police, acting on prior information, came in large numbers and prevented the crowds to occupy the sites before taking the Congress leader into custody.

Chaos surrounded the entire area and it took a lot of time for the police to get the situation under control. Jagga Reddy had been MLA twice, before losing in the 2014 elections. While the former MLA has been missing in action for a long time, he has once again taken over the political reins ever since the public meeting of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi in Sangareddy.
