Karimnagar: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy expressed deep concern over farmers not having access to their own money saved in their bank accounts to invest the same in Kharif season.

Addressing a public meeting at Manakondur, 10 kms from district headquarters Karimnagar on Sunday, Reddy said that the agriculture sector has been in a state of neglect under the rule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

“Farmers had lost three consecutive crops due to State’s negligence and drought conditions. Finally when they had a good Rabi season, they failed to get remunerative price for their produce. Due to cash crunch in the banks, now the farmers face hardships even to draw their own money. This will invariably affect the farmers,” he said.

Reddy found fault with the BJP-led NDA government, for not listening to the grievances of Telangana farmers. On the other hand, State government has failed miserably in pressuring the Centre to provide cash and credit facility to farmers
