Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) work is to get a fillip and move faster as several measures are being taken for the purpose, according to HMR MD NVS Reddy.
The measures include a daily report via WhatsApp by engineers and contractors. Reddy conducted a review meeting with HMRL engineers and contractors to review the urban rejuvenation and landscaping works at Metro Rail stations in corridor III from Miyapur to SR Nagar on Sunday. The newly-created ‘WhatsApp’ group would help track pending issues that can be immediately resolved by engineers and town planning officials and the works can be carried out at a faster pace.
Later, Reddy inspected the ongoing urban rejuvenation works at different metro stations between Miyapur and SR Nagar. “Overhead electrical wires at Miyapur shall be made underground so that wider footpaths with aesthetic street furniture, better landscaping and more parking areas could be created, said Reddy.
Architect Shanker Narayan has been advised to design a special ‘rural games’ zone, children’s play area and different activity zones in a stretch of about 1 km from Miyapur to Hydernagar. Kiosks shall be seamlessly integrated with the tiled area and landscaping will be done to improve the ambience of vast public space being created in this stretch.
Chief Engineers (Electrical) DVS Raju, M Vishnuvardhan Reddy and C Vinod Kumar, General Manager (Works) BN Rajeshwar, senior officers and contractors participated in the inspection.
