KTR directs officials to speed up road repairs

​Hyderabad: Municipal administration and Urban Development Minister K Taraka Rama Rao on Thursday held a meeting to review the progress of road repair works in the city.

Most of the roads were battered by heavy rains. The Minister also reviewed on Musi development and cleaning of Hussain Sagar. He held the meeting at Begumpet camp office which was attended by top officials of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Hyderabad Road Development Corporation and Hyderabad Road Development Corporation (HMDA).

KTR directed officials GHMC engineering section to speed up road repair works. The Minister also directed the officails to lay cement roads instead of BT roads abutting the flyovers and skyways. The officials were asked to submit proposals for additional funds for works, if necessary.

Reviewing the work of HMDA, the Minister asked to engage more consultants for preparing DPR for laying the roads. KTR appreciated the work taken up to develop Amanish nala in Rajasthan. He asked the officials to take feedback from the Rajasthan officials in developing Musi River
