Bhadrachalam: Bhadradri-Kothagudem District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu directed the Mission Bhagiratha officials to complete the pipeline works by September-end and finish the other structural works by November-end. He wanted the officials to take up the pipeline works on a war-footing.

While reviewing the progress of Mission Bhagiratha works in a meeting held here on Saturday, the Collector asked the authorities to provide him with a schedule time by when they would be completing the pipeline works. So far only 19 out of 91 structural works have been completed, he said insisting that the rest of the works should be through by November-end.

Earlier, the officials told the Collector that pipelines work for a distance of 502 km would have to be laid in the district under the project. The Collector made it clear that the works should be completed before the deadline announced by the government to supply drinking water.

He asked the authorities to keep the material ready to avoid delays and implement other works where there is possible. He warned them of initiating strict action if works get stalled for want of material. Mission Bhagiratha Superintending Engineer Srinivasa Rao, Executive Engineer Ravinder and others took part in the meeting.
