As the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) authorities are planning to start commercial operations from November this year, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) Greater Hyderabad Zone has decided to run buses across the metro corridors.

Hyderabad: As the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) authorities are planning to start commercial operations from November this year, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) Greater Hyderabad Zone has decided to run buses across the metro corridors.

According to an official from TSRTC, The TSRTC will run buses across metro corridors. Currently, TSRTC runs 760 buses from LB Nagar to different destinations. However, there is no plan to reduce the buses immediately after the Nagole to Ameerpet Metro starts running.

He also stated that there are around 940 running from Miyapur to different areas. In the initial stage, metro rail would not have much impact on RTC commuters as passengers have to commute beyond Ameerpet. The official said that if there is possibility of introducing radial services connecting various residential colonies to metro stations. For the purpose, the existing buses would be utilised and suitable changes would be made in route structures.
