SSA outsourcing, contract staff demand higher wages
Outsourcing and contract employees of Telangana State Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) took out a rally on Monday from Inspection Bungalow to the Collectorate, demanding fair treatment to them. Later, they staged a sit-in dharna in front of the Collectorate in support of their demands.

Their demands include equal pay for equal work, implementation of 10th PRC basic pay, clearing of arrears of 12 months wages, maternity leave with six months’ pay and so on. Alleging that the State government has been looking down upon them, the agitators said come April the workers are apprehensive whether they would be retained in the next year or not.
Stating that they took active part in the Sakala Janula Samme during the height of Telangana movement, the outsourcing and contract workers noted with concern that hitting the roads even after formation of Telangana for wages was painful. In all, 300 outsourcing and temporary workers headed by Rajesh, Murthy, Kanakamahalakshmi and Bharati Devi, took part in the protest.
