Hyderabad: The staff of the State-run Gandhi Hospital were in for a pleasant surprise as Governor ESL Narasimhan made a surprise visit for treatment on Wednesday.
The Governor went to the hospital just like any other normal patient, and sought the advice of the doctors there, for treatment of a corn on his right foot.
Hospital Superintendent Sravan Kumar and other staff members accompanied the Governor to the 5th floor, where the Plastic Surgery Head of the Department Subhod and General Surgery Professor NVN Reddy examined and advised him to undergo a minor surgery at the hospital.
After the treatment, Narasimhan expressed satisfaction at the sanitation standards at the hospital and exhorted the administration to maintain the same and improve the conditions further in strategic points of patient care.
When the doctors at the hospital brought to the notice of the Governor that there was a need for an extra MRI unit to cater to the overwhelming response of patients seeking treatment at the hospital, he assured them that he would advise the State government in the matter.
