Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday directed the officials concerned to conduct a comprehensive land survey with a thorough revamp and get the details online for ensuring transparency. He instructed the officials to conduct the land survey in a perfect manner with minute details of all sorts of lands in the State and record them online properly.

The Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) is reportedly directed to speed up the process in districts and major towns in this regard. However, the CCLA has presently no chief to head it so far and the government is leant to have been trying to fill up the post soon. As it is the duty of the CCLA to monitor and guide the entire machinery from State level to the districts and rural areas, the government is planning to fill up the post very soon.

In the wake of the recent announcement by the Chief Minister to offer Rs 8,000 per acre towards crop investment to each farmer, the meeting was held to take stock of the situation. The Chief Minister who asked the officials for conducting a land survey to complete details of the lands across the State recently, has asked them to speed up the process.

To offer the amount of Rs 4,000 each for acre for two crops a year, the government needs to get proper details of the total land in all the districts, towns and villages. Based on the report to be submitted, in about three months, the government will take a decision to offer the crop investment and go ahead with other schemes of development.

The land survey was reportedly first conducted before the independence and now the Telangana Rashtra Samithi dispensation wants to have complete details of the land and register them online. The State government has a wide-ranging plan to distribute the land to the landless poor including Dalits and others, according to official sources.

As part of the efforts to protect the government properties, the State government has decided to prepare a detailed database on forest lands, government land, endowments lands, land being utilised for the public utility purposes, lands under the government buildings, lands under tanks, lakes, other water resources.

The details and information on lands alienated by the government, lands assigned by the government and lands acquired by the government will also be collected and recorded.

The Chief Minister said the lands having no litigation would be rectified and details of each land under the Revenue village will be recorded.
