Hyderabad: TRS MP Burra Narsaiah Goud on wrote a letter to Union Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharathi over the delay in the release of Krishna river water from Karnataka.

The MP brought to the notice of the minister that Telangana government requested Karnataka for the release 15 tmc ft of water to meet drinking water needs in Hyderabad and other districts.

The MP of the ruling party sought to know as to why the Centre was not coming to the rescue of Telangana and protect its interests. We need 20 tmc ft waters right now to cater to the needs of Twin-cities and other districts while some projects in two Telugu States have been dried up,’ he said.

The present water policy needs to be changed to address the problems of riparian States, the MP said and added Karnataka Government had failed to heed to Telangana request for the release of waters.
