Beer goes down the drain as truck carrying bottles overturns
A DCM van which was transporting beer bottles from Nalgonda to Huzurnagar overturned near Shettipalem in the district on Thursday causing a loss of Rs 6 lakh.
Miryalaguda: A DCM van which was transporting beer bottles from Nalgonda to Huzurnagar overturned near Shettipalem in the district on Thursday causing a loss of Rs 6 lakh.
According to reliable sources and Vemulapally police, the van that was carrying 340 beer cartons from Nalgonda overturned near Shettipalem when the vehicle driver applied sudden brakes to save the cows crossing the road. In this incident, all the beer cartons fell on the road and half of the load of beer bottles were broken and scattered on the road. This created a lot of inconvenience to the commuters travelling on the road.
After receiving information, Vemulapally SI Rajasheakar Reddy rushed to the spot and took the situation under control. With the help of locals and police staff, he loaded the unbroken beer cartons into another vehicle and send it to the destination. Vemulapally police registered a case and took up the further investigation.
