Hyderabad: The City police on Sunday arrested son of TRS leader from Manthani A Shankar Goud over allegations of impersonating as police officer and cheating youth in the name of providing government jobs in the Police Department.
According to official sources, A Sridhar Goud, 35, who has been under the police radar for some time, was nabbed in the city for cheating scores of individuals by promising government jobs.
He allegedly took lakhs of rupees from the victims, by impersonating as a police official. Recently, he also allegedly attacked the owner of a bar by claiming to be a DSP of Crime Branch (Godavarikhani). Several cases were already booked against the accused in Karimnagar district.
He not only used a car with police stickers and emblems, but donned the attire with ID card and gun. After he continued the practice in the city by promising a man a job as SI, the police began trailing him over his activities. On Sunday, the Chilkalguda police arrested him.
