Hyderabad: The Zoology Department of University College for Women is organising a seminar on ‘Health and Hygiene’ practices for Women on Wednesday in the College premises.

The main objective of the seminar is to educate the girls about health and hygienic practices. The organising secretary of the programme and Zoology head of the department B Neerja told The Hans India, “Even in this 21st Century we treat the health issues of girls in our family as a secondary factor, as a result these children remain ignorant about the hormonal changes happening in their body. If we start educating them in college, these girls will go out and educate other girls in the society.”

She further added, “Most of the girls and women even after coming to city, are not properly educated about sanitation and how to dispose waste materials. This further gives birth to different forms of pollution around us, to curb this we as teachers in schools and colleges should educate them.

Now this would make a difference at large scale.” The programme would highlight the policies and programmes of the government of India for Women.
