Farmer committees a revolutionary step: KTR
The decision of constituting of farmers’ coordination committees (FCC) is a revolutionary step taken by the TRS government in the history of the nation, which are going to play a key role in the all-round development of the farmers,” stated Minister for Information Technology K T Rama Rao here on Wednesday.

The IT Minister along with Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy participated at an awareness programme, organised by the agriculture department at a private function hall in Ragudu village in Sircilla.
To make the farmer a king in the newly formed Telangana State, whom the previous governments have neglected and to turn agriculture into a festival, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao introduced several welfare schemes - such as 24-hour uninterrupted power supply, construction of reservoirs, Mission Kakatiya project and others that were not seen anywhere in the country, he said.
FCCs are being formed to provide minimum support price for the agricultural yield produced by the farmers. The government is determined for storing 1,200 tmc water through various projects for supplying water to about 1.2 crores acres for irrigation purpose.
In Rajanna Sircilla district, water for irrigation purpose will be supplied to about 2 lakhs acres within one year along with strengthening all lakes present across the State, he assured.
Agricultural Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said KCR decided to form FCCs to make the farmer live with self-respect and to make Telangana as a rich farmers’ State. These committees are being constituted transparently with farmers as the members to bring all the farmers under one platform and prevent the farmers from committing suicides.
Several steps were already taken for strengthening agriculture across the State. For every 5,000 acres, one agriculture officer had been appointed for giving proper guidelines to the farmers along with establishing soil testing labs, Reddy informed.
Commissioner of Agriculture Department Jagan Mohan Rao, District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar, MLC Naradasu Lakshman Rao, MLA Rasamai Balakishan, State TESCOB Chairman Konduri Ravinder Rao, State Markfed representative Bapi Reddy and SES Chairman Dornala Lakshma Reddy were present along with others.
