Of the total seven assembly constituencies under Nalgonda Parliamentary constituency, Nalgonda, Miryalaguda, Devarakonda and Nagarjunasagar comes under Nalgonda district, While Suryapet, Huzurnagar and Kodad come under newly-formed Surypet district.
It is believed that keeping his promise to Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukender Reddy during his joining in TRS, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is likely to promote Gutha as president of State Farmers Coordination Committee with cabinet rank in a couple of days. In this connection, the MP has to resign from his post before taking up the new job.
Meanwhile, political analysts opine that KCR wants to take a litmus test for his governance through the bypoll and strategise for 2019 polls based on the bypoll results. It is also opined that the Chief Minister also wants to put check to all Congress top brass leaders like TPCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, CLP leader Janareddy and Deputy CLP leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy who are representing as MLAs from the Nalgonda parliament constituency.
In the wake of forthcoming Nalgonda bypoll and learning a lesson from the defeat of TRS Candidate Tera Chinappa Reddy in Nalgonda local body MLC elections, the Energy Minister, G Jagadish Reddy, has reportedly recommended the transfer of both SPs. It is alleged that Nalgonda SP N Prakash Reddy was pro Congress and was tough with local TRS leaders, while the Suryapet SP was unabashedly straightforward.
While Nalgonda SP completed two years tenure, SP Parimala could not even complete a year’s tenure. It is further learnt that, besides SP Parimala, DSP of Suryapet Sunitha Mohan was also transferred and attached to commissionerate for reportedly not following the recommendations of ruling party leaders.
However, few intellectuals expressed that both SPs did their best to maintain law and order, but became scapegoats in the political chess game of ruling TRS leaders and opposition Congress leaders in the respective districts.
