Medak/Sangareddy/Siddipet: The State-wide general strike announced by the Centre for Indian Trade Unions (CITU) on Tuesday was met with no response. The industrial areas in Sangareddy and industries in Medak and Siddipet districts remained open and the workers showed no interest in participating in the State bandh.

Apart from minor incidents in Pashamylaram industrial area where some CITU activists were arrested while preventing workers of a company from attending to their duties, no major incident was reported.

In Medak, main leaders of CITU were missing and CITU women's wing leader Narsamma was the only person who could mobilise some 27 activists. Narsamma took out a small rally from Children's park in Medak town to the District Collectorate. The activists gave a representation to the District Revenue Officer and left the scene without making much noise.
