Calling Rohingya Muslims illegal immigrants is disingenuous: Owaisi
All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday termed Union Minister Rajnath Singh\'s statement that Rohingya Muslims are \'illegal immigrants\' as \'disingenuous.\'

Speaking to ANI here, Owaisi said, "The statement of the home minister is disingenuous."
He further took a dig at Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti's statement that not a single Rohingya is indulged in militant activities.
Owaisi also called Myanmar State Councillor Aung San Suu Kyi's statement - Rohingyas were earlier kept in very safe and secure camps - fake.
"Suu kyi gave a false statement. Earlier they were kept in very safe and secure camps. Why did she herself not go to Bangladesh? Bangladesh is their neighbour as well so why doesn't she go and talk to them in detail? She wrote a book on freedom, but first of all she needs to follow it and then talk about freedom. She is a dark spot on the Nobel Peace Prize," he averred.
Asserting that the Rohingyas are facing several problems and the whole world knows that they are homeless people, the AIMIM president wondered about how they would now be looked after.
"There are 15 lakh Rohingyas in Burma. Most of them don't have legal papers with them of their citizenship. They have no right to live their life happily and peacefully over there. I ask who will take care of those three lakh refugees?" he added.
Addressing the gathering at the National Human Rights Commission's (NHRC) two-day national seminar on good governance and human rights, Rajnath, earlier in the day, said, "The Rohingya Muslims are not refugees as they are have not completed the legal process. Neither are there any asylums for them."
