Seven women bag liquor shops in Vikarabad

Vikarabad: District Collector Divya on Friday allocated through draw of lots 45 liquor shops in the district to 446 applicants, including the highest number of 33 for one shop in Dharur.

The applicants were present when she conducted lottery at Ambedkar Bhavan to select the shop-owners.

As many as 145 applied for 15 shops in Parigi, 141 for 15 shops in Tandur, 120 for 11 shops in Vikarabad and 40 for five shops in Mominpet.

In the case of a shop in the third ward of Tandur municipality, the lone applicant was Sravan Kumar, who bagged it. Seven women were among the successful applicants.

Among those present at the draw of lots were Excise and Prohibition Superintendent Varaprasad, Circle Inspectors Tukya and others.
