He praised civil supplies officials for their improved services and making the department proud in the year 2016-17.

A meeting was held to review last year Rabi season, and current yeas Khariff season activity. Civil Supplies Joint Collectors, DCSOs, District Managers and Head Office officials received Admiration Certificates from Hon’ble Minister. In this meeting FCI Officials, 31 district ACSOs, Assistant Manager, Legal Metrology officials participated.

Addressing the participants minister said “Corruption to great extent is been eliminated in Civil Supplies Corporation with implementing reforms. Mainly PDS Rice black marketeering is prevented sooner than expected. Changes have been made in transport system. I thank all the officials for their improved services. We cannot prevent all the irregularities one at a time. But the now situation is under control.”

"Commissioner C.V. Anand prior to coming to here has served as Cyberabad Police Commissioner had full knowledge about Civil Supplies Department. He prevented black marketeering of PDS with help of Taskforce and registered PD cases also. Discipline increased in the Civil Supplies. Previously there was no accountability for the expenses, but now for every paisa accounts are been maintained. How many gunny bags purchased, spent likewise accounts are maintained.” He said.

Prior PDS rice was illegally transported by wagons, lorry. Now we completely prevented the illegal transportation. E-pos machines also helped in preventing the black marketeering. People should come forward to completely remove this corruption. Those who are needy only should avail the PDS rice, others should not take the rice and sell to black market. Government should also take severe steps to control the illegal transport.

Last year Civil Supplies corporation purchased 16.47 Lakh tons of paddy, this year it targeted to 27 Lakh tons. For this 2800 purchase centers are established. In 2016-17 Rabi season in record scale 37 lakh tons paddy was procured in the history of Telangana state and submitted to millers, in return they submitted 85 per cent of rice to government.

Records achieved in issuing gas connections. Funds allotted to issue 10 lakh connections more”.

Commissioner for Civil Supplies C.V. Anand said, “We are presenting these certificates to the officials so that they can serve people more improvising. Joint Collectors, DCSOs, DMs, other officials and staff have worked very hard to achieve this result. Implementing reforms in Civil Supplies Department we were able to prevent corruption.”

First time in Civil Supplies history millers submitted 99.91 per cent CMR in Khariff season. In record scale 37 lakh metric tons of paddy was procured and transported to millers working day and night. Mainly in this process some district Collectors and Joint Collectors standing on the streets reviewed the transportation. In 2016-17 Khariff, Rabi seasons 54.66 lakh tons of paddy is purchased from eleven lakh farmers through 5000 PPCs and Rs. 8100 crores transferred online to their accounts.

Telangana Civil Supplies showed path to other states in using technology. Soon all the Joint Collector offices will get Command Control Centers, CC Cameras would be installed in all the godowns. In Greater Hyderabad Ration Portability is getting good response. In June 1,02,432, July 1,51,713 and in August 1,79,157 transactions were made through ration portability.
