The India Meteorological Department on Tuesday issued heavy rainfall/thunderstorm warning during next five days for Telangana.

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department on Tuesday issued heavy rainfall/thunderstorm warning during next five days for Telangana.

The Met Department, in its bulletin, predicted that thunderstorm associated with heavy rain very likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana on Tuesday and Wednesday. “The upper air cyclonic circulation over north Odisha and neighbourhood now lies over Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood and extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.

The upper air trough now runs from the above system to Coastal Karnataka across Odisha , South Chattisgarh, Telangana, Rayalaseema and South Interior Karnataka and extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level. An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Gulf of Siam and neighbourhood and extends upto 5.8 k above mean sea level. The upper air cyclonic circulation over Rayalaseema and neighbourhood has become less marked. The upper air cyclonic circulation over east central Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood has become less marked,” the Met Dept said.

During Last 24 Hours south west monsoon has been active over Telangana. Rain occurred at many places over Telangana. Maximum rainfall of 13 cm was recorded at Golkonda (Hyderabad Dist), followed by Palakurthi - 12 cm; Gandeed 11 cm; Venkatapur – 10 cm; Shamirpet – 9 cm; Kosgi – 9 cm; Hasanparthy – 9 cm; Parkal – 9 cm, Saroornagar – 9 cm and Hyderabad – 8 cm.
