Hyderabad: Telangana Government on Tuesday released the rules for direct recruitment for the posts of teachers in the State.

As per the new rules, the recruitment would be through a selection process as decided by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC). Out of the total marks of Teacher Recruitment Test, 20% weightage would be given for Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) score for all the posts, except for School Assistant (Physical Education) and Physical Education Teacher.

The new rules also clarified on the pass marks obtained in Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) / Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test (TSTET) / Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). While the maximum marks in APTET/TSTET and CTET are 150, the passing marks for OCs will be 90, for BCs it will be 75 while it would be 60 marks for SC/ST/Differently Abled.

The APTET scores obtained before the appointed day of 02.06.2014 will only be considered. Selection of candidates shall be on the basis of combined marks secured in the Main Examination to be conducted by the TSPSC (80%) and TET (20%) in all categories of posts except SA (Physical Education) and PET for which selection will be 100% based on the Main Examination conducted by TSPSC only.

The new rules also defined the eligibility criteria of candidates for different posts.
