Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao appears to be ready to showcase his government’s achievements in the welfare and developmental programmes during the monsoon session of the Assembly beginning October 27.

The Chief Minister is reportedly planning to make a three-hour marathon presentation on the achievements of his government in the House like he did on irrigation last year. The CM also said to have instructed all his ministers to prepare a progress report in their respective departments and present them in the House. Apparently, he wanted the session to be convened for at least 20 days.

The Chief Minister had already held a meeting with his Cabinet colleagues and forwarded the proposals to the Assembly secretary for the conduct of session from October 27 onwards. However, the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) would finalise the duration of the session in its meeting on October 26.

The schedule would be prepared for a month’s session and with at least 15 to 20 working days. Both the Legislative Assembly and Council would most likely have the same duration of the session. “Every subject that is debated in the Assembly should also be debated in the Council.

Treat the forthcoming Session as very important one. The ministers should make categorical statements on several programmes, schemes and projects taken up by the government for the welfare of the people.

There should be an in-depth discussion on every issue allowing every member to participate,” KCR reportedly told the ministers.

“The government is ready to answer all the queries and questions that will be raised by the members. We are ready to debate on any issue. All issues should be explained to the people through the Assembly session. The Ministers should get ready for this,” the CM said to have told his Cabinet colleagues.

Since the Centre did not respond on several issues, KCR appears to have decided to follow the strategy of making once again resolutions on the bifurcation of the High Court, Women’s Reservations Bill in Parliament, increasing reservations for the minorities and STs, Income Tax exemption for the Singareni employees, interlinking the employment generation scheme with the agriculture activities and establishment of AIIMS in Telangana state.

“Let us pass these resolutions once again and forward to the Centre thereby to exert more pressure,” the CM has reportedly told the ministers.

The CM said to have desired that there should also be a discussion on the measures taken by the government for the protection and preservation of mother tongue Telugu and the proposed World Telugu Conference.
