Hyderabad: Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said that no State or country could develop without having proper Law & Order situation in the society. He said any disturbance in the Law & Order situation leads to chaos while bringing the development process to a halt.

Addressing the Police Commemoration Day ceremony at Goshamahal Stadium on Saturday, Nayani claimed that the Law & Order situation in Telangana State has improved after TRS Government came to power. He said terrorism, extremism, communalism and anti-social activities were curbed with an iron hand. Further, a proper check was maintained on White Collar Offences. He said Telangana has emerged as a role model for the country in terms of Law & Order and prevention of crime.

The Home Minister said stern action was being taken against drugs mafia, Gutkha dealers and those preparing spurious material. He said peace was being maintained at all cost to ensure formation of 'Bangaru (Golden) Telangana'.

Nayani also touched upon various reforms introduced in Telangana Police during the last three years. He said the State Police force was upgraded and equipped with latest gadgets, weapons, technology and vehicles. Praising the police personnel for their good performance, he made a special mention of 'She Teams' who effectively curbed eve-teasing. He announced that Bharosa Centres would be extended to other districts of Telangana State.

The Home Minister said that the State Government was taking measures for the welfare of police personnel and their families. He said several steps were taken for the welfare of families of police martyrs.

Earlier, the Home Minister, along with DGP Anurag Sharma, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Mahender Reddy and other senior police officials paid rich tributes to the police personnel who laid down their lives on line of duty.
