Hyderabad : MIM MLA Jaffer Hussain Meraj has strongly objected to grant of license for wine shops in residential areas.

Raising the issue during Zero Hour in Telangana Legislative Assembly, Meraj Hussain pointed out that several wine shops have been permitted in residential areas and many of them were within 100 metres radius of places of worships and educational institutions, which is an open violation of rules. He said that the MIM had no objection to wine shops if they are permitted in commercial areas.

IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao assured the MIM MLA that the government would look into his complaint.

BJP MLA NVSS Prabhakar raised the issue of problems being faced by commuters in RTC buses. He said he himself travelled in RTC bus from his residence to Assembly. He said that the RTC buses were over crowded on several routes. The commuters are also facing difficulties due to less frequency of buses and non-maintenance of timings.

TRS MLA Teegala Krishna Reddy also raised the issue of lack of bus stops in his Maheshwaram constituency.

In his reaction, Transport Minister Mahender Reddy assured the members that he would convene a meeting with officials to resolve the issues.

Speaking during Zero Hour, TDP MLA R. Krishnaiah demanded that the government restore old pension rules. He said that the employees were happy with the new pension rules and therefore, the government should follow the old rules. Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari said that the government would look into it.

BJP MLA Raja Singh complained of improper maintenance of nalas in his Goshamahal constituency. He said there four major nalas in Goshamahal which overflowed during recent rains. He said even Begum Bazar Police Station has to be vacated to inundation. He said that the GHMC was not utilising the sanctioned funds in a proper manner. He said that the situation was same across the city during heavy rains.

Minister KTR has assured the BJP MLA that he would resolve the matter at the earliest.
