Hyderabad: TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has come up with a plan to construct another party office – ‘Telangana Bhavan’ - in New Delhi next year. Based on the party strength, the Union government has agreed to allot land for the construction of the party office in the national capital recently.

As per the rules, a political organization which had a total strength of 10 to 15 MPs in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabah would be allotted land measuring 500 square yards. At present, the TRS strength in Parliament is 14 MPs (11 Lok Sabha and 3 Rajya Sabha). The Centre had already informed the party about the allotment of 500 square yards. Top TRS leader and close aide of the Chief Minister said the Union government also informed the party that it would get 1000 square yards of land if the total strength in Parliament crosses 15.

He said two Rajya Sabha seats would fall vacant as TDP MP CM Ramesh and Congress member Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar’s term would end in April 2018. The biennial election for another seat is also scheduled during the same time. Considering the Rajya Sabha elections an advantage, KCR put on hold the proposal to construct the office in 500 yards and wanted to get 1000 yards next year.

The TRS has enough strength in the Assembly to win all the three MP seats in the elections to be held next year. After the elections, the TRS strength would rise to 17. The increased strength would help the party get 1000 yards site for the party office.

The party has plans to construct party office along with big dormitories. The new facility would help provide accommodation to Telangana people visiting Delhi on various reasons. The TRS leader said the construction of the new TRS office would be completed before the 2019 general election. The TRS has its own party building in Hyderabad.
