Hyderabad : The 20th International Children's film festival started on a colourful note here on Wednesday evening.

Telangana's Minister for Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav inaugurated the festival. Speaking on the occasion, he said Hyderabad, the most happening city, is an apt place to organise the festival. He said more films for children with good content must be made.

Speaking on the occasion Mukesh Khanna, Chairman of CFSI requested the Government of Telangana, to announce Hyderabad as the Southern Centre of CFSI. Shravan Kumar, CEO of ICFFI said that the festival is growing in stature with every edition as can be seen from the increasing number of entries.

A total of 1402 entries have been received of which 300 will be screened in this weeklong festival Nov 8 to 14th. Colourful cultural programmes by children were staged at the inauguration.
