Hyderabad: After a long time the Assembly lobbies were buzzing with hectic activity as the TRS MLAs made a beeline to the Chief Minister’s chambers who was on a spree of according approvals for various developmental works both new and pending.

As KCR agreed to meet party leaders in his chambers on Thursday, the party MLAs made a beeline to meet the CM and submitted memoranda seeking funds under different developmental schemes which included funds for construction of government schools, road network works, establishment of fire stations etc.

An TRS MLA from old Nizamabad district, who did not want to be named, said that the CM accorded approval to all the works pending before the government for the last two years in one stroke. Some of the works were sanctioned under Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and some of them directly from Special Development Fund (SDF) instantly.

The MLAs also brought to the notice of the CM about the growing demand for the sanction of additional pensions under old age and single women pension scheme and allotment of two bed room houses. The legislators requested the government for the early release of funds under 2BHK scheme to avoid delay in the works.

The Chief Minister it is learnt has instructed all the ministers to address the issues pending since months. Sanction of local development works under Panchayat Raj and Rural Development department, Mission Kakatiya works, pending canal development works, construction of new police stations, agriculture offices, marketing godowns and sanction of road development works in mandal headquarters etc have been given top priority.

The Chief Minister asked the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Minister KT Rama Rao to address all the issues pertaining to the development of municipal corporations, municipalities and nagar panchayats.

KTR immediately held meetings with the MLAs and local body representatives to speed up infrastructure development works in the municipalities. Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao was busy clearing pending proposals with regard to the strengthening of canal works, small irrigation works and Mission Kakatiya. Panchayat Raj Minister J Krishna Rao was entrusted to speed up local body development works in consultation with the legislators concerned.

KCR asked his Cabinet colleagues to monitor the works being taken up under the jurisdiction of their respective departments regularly and coordinate with the local legislators for the speedy completion of all projects.
