Education and Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari on Friday announced that affiliation would be given to junior colleges in March 2018 only if the managements, comply with the directions of Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education.

The Minister informed that 194 junior colleges have been issued notices by the Board following inspections and all managements are instructed to maintain proper academic schedule including class timings and holidays.

This came in response to a question raised during the Question Hour in the Legislative Council. He further mentioned that the managements have been asked to employ professional counsellors for students on a regular basis and allow free time to students in their daily schedule.

Kadiam Srihari also urged the colleges to involve in regular interaction with parents, students, and teachers adding that criminal proceedings would be taken against the college authorities where the students commit suicide.
