The Sircilla Municipality has qualified for the SKOCH Order-of-Merit Award in the category of Dry Resource Centre. It may be noted here that since 1997, the Gurgaon-based SKOCH Group is an independent assessor of states to encourage top performing government bodies and organisations working to eliminate open defecation, enhancing sanitation and public health.

Sircilla: The Sircilla Municipality has qualified for the SKOCH Order-of-Merit Award in the category of Dry Resource Centre. It may be noted here that since 1997, the Gurgaon-based SKOCH Group is an independent assessor of states to encourage top performing government bodies and organisations working to eliminate open defecation, enhancing sanitation and public health.

In a letter to the Municipal Commissioner, the SKOCH Group said that the project based on three parameters – early bird, jury evaluation and popular vote – has been qualified for being conferred the SKOCH Order-of Merit award during the 50thSKOCH Summit to be held on December 20 and 21 at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi.

It means, Sircilla’s nomination is in the race for the biggest annual honour of receiving the SKOCH Award – 2017 to be additionally adjudged during the conference on the basis of Delegate Votes. Delegate Votes are collected based on exhibition display and interaction. It accounts for 15 per cent weightage on overall score. MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao and District Collector Krishna Bhaskar among others, who expressed their joy over the development.
