Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday released ‘Modati Patham’, a book written by noted educationist Chukka Ramaiah. Speaking on the occasion, Venkaiah Naidu congratulated Ramaiah for his efforts in making entry to IITs in the country affordable and accessible to all students, the rich and the poor alike.

Hyderabad: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday released ‘Modati Patham’, a book written by noted educationist Chukka Ramaiah. Speaking on the occasion, Venkaiah Naidu congratulated Ramaiah for his efforts in making entry to IITs in the country affordable and accessible to all students, the rich and the poor alike.

He said Ramaiah’s experiences as a teacher would guide teachers and it would become a book of reference for them. The fact that coaching was required to secure a seat in Ramaiah’s institutions was a testimony to the standard of excellence in his institutions, Naidu said.

The Vice President further said today there was a need to inculcate a sense of pride among students in talking in their own mother tongue, respecting teachers and elders and love for their own country. He said Chukka Ramaiah had rendered great service to our education system and his students had achieved great success and were in high positions in India and abroad. Naidu also extended birthday wishes to Chukka Ramaiah.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari said Chukka Ramaiah worked timelessly far to make entry into IITs accessible to all meritorious students. He announced that the Telangana government would provide the book to all State libraries and see that every teacher had a copy. Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council former Chairman Dr A Chakrapani, Telangana Press Academy Chairman A Narayana, TSPSC Chairman G Chakrapani and others were also present.
