Hyderabad: With the issuance of the safety certificate for the 30-km stretch between Nagole and Miyapur, the trial runs especially in the Miyapur area have gained momentum. The L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (LTHMRL) has been conducting trial runs for over two years in the Nagole to Mettuguda stretch.

While L&T secured the safety clearance for the Nagole-Mettuguda stretch in April 2016, it received clearance for the Miyapur-SR Nagar stretch in August 2016. With the missing link and the contentious 10-km Mettuguda-SR Nagar stretch also getting the nod on Monday, the trial runs have picked up steam.

Raman, a resident of Miyapur said that they used to see one train chugging along earlier, but on Tuesday he noticed two trains moving, he added. Officials at Hyderabad Metro Rail corporate office were upbeat after the authorisation of the route. A senior official said, “We are expecting the Prime Minister’s approval anytime.”
