Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will don the role of a scholar at the ensuing World Telugu Conference to be held from December 15 in the city. In all likelihood, KCR may present a paper on ‘Telugu language in Telangana context’ at one of the technical sessions in the five-day conference.

A postgraduate in Telugu literature from Osmania University, KCR has been a great fan of literature and also voracious reader. Sources close to him said the Chief Minister was making his homework to present the paper on the importance of Telugu in Telugu states and the transformation of the language from the Nizam period till the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

“KCR is also keen to explain the role of language during the Telangana movement (between 2002 and 2014) spearheaded by him,” the sources said.
Writing lyrics is not new for KCR. He had written lyrics for a Telangana film "Jai Bolo Telangana" released in 2011 at the helm of Telangana movement, sources said and did not rule out composing yet another song for the Telugu conference.

KCR is already holding a series of meetings with scholars from Telugu University and other noted educational institutions where research on the Telugu language particularly in Telangana is in progress. He is taking tips from the experts to fine tune his skills in writing songs and presenting a paper on the history of the language.

KCR is also authoring a book on Telangana movement in which he has touched upon the importance of the language. If it is completed before the commencement of the conference, the Chief Minister will have it released from the hands of a prominent language scholar.

The sources disclosed that KCR will also participate actively in the panel discussions to be attended by famous Telugu personalities in the conference.
