Children’s court to be set up in Hyderabad
A Children’s court will be soon set up in Hyderabad exclusively for cases and trials under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
A Children’s court will be soon set up in Hyderabad exclusively for cases and trials under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
It is for the first time in the country, a children’s court will be established outside the premises of a regular court. It will be set in Hyderabad in a month and work from the Bharosa Centre of the Hyderabad City Police.
The child victims will have a separate entrance to that they don’t have to face suspect under any circumstance and also a one-way mirror will be set up to prevent from the child being exposed to the suspect at the time of recording evidence.
It will also include another restroom for victims, and rooms for judicial officers, prosecutors, defense advocates apart from a waiting place for the public.
