Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday visited the new NTPC power plant coming up with 1600 MW at Ramagundam.Enquiring the progress with the BHEL engineers, KCR urged the officials to increase the pace of the works on a war footing.

The Chief Minister was informed that the first unit of the power plan would be completed by May 2020 and the next would follow in another six months.

He directed the NTPC officials to ensure the completion of its thermal units on time keeping in view the rise in the power needs of Telangana particularly with the needs of the state irrigation projects which are being completed at a fast pace.
