SCR training institute celebrates 54th annual day today

Hyderabad: Zonal Railway Training Institute (ZRTI), Moula-Ali, will celebrate its 45th Annual Day at Open Air Auditorium, ZRTI Campus, at 4 pm on Friday. South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav will be the chief guest and Principal Chief Operations Manager N Madhusudana Rao, Principal Chief Commercial Manager M G Sekharam and Principal Chief Personnel Officer N V Ramana Reddy will participate in the function, according to an official release issued here on Thursday.

The ZRTI, located at a distance of about 10 kms from Secunderabad Railway Station, was established on December 7, 1972 at Moula Ali. It is located in an area of 19.73 acres. It imparts training to group ‘C’ staff of operating and commercial departments and loco pilots.

Various types of courses are offered here like initial courses to newly-recruited personnel and refresher courses, promotional courses, special courses like disaster management, customer care, contract management etc to the in-service employees. The ZRTI is mainly divided into training block, hostel building and sports and recreation block. The training block consists of 12 classrooms with adequate seating capacity, Transportation Model Room with associated signalling system, panel model room, air brake model room, UTS lab, FOIS lab, first aid model room, library, seminar hall, auditorium etc.

All classrooms have been equipped with LCD projectors and other modern teaching aids. Hostel building consists of three blocks including a separate hostel for woman trainees, with mess facility. In recreation block, facilities for games like football, volleyball, ball-badminton, shuttle badminton, tennikoit, cricket, table tennis, chess and carroms are provided. Yoga and meditation classes are conducted daily from 5.30 am to 6.30 am.
