Centre to set up steel plants in AP, Telangana
The Centre is likely to set up steel plants in Bayyaram in Telangana and Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh.

Announcing that the report on the feasibility of setting up the plants is completed, Union Minister for Steel, Birendra Singh said on Friday that the task force, constituted by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has created a good report.
He further stated that the report will be first submitted to the Vice President first and then made available to the public.
Previously, the Centre through the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) planned to explore the feasibility of setting up steel plants in both the Telugu states as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.
However, the initial report turned out to be unfavourable to the two states. Hence a task force was constituted to explore the matter further.
