Hyderabad is all set to host the World Telugu Conference (WTC) being organised by the Telangana government on Friday and the five-day event will be inaugurated by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.

Hyderabad is all set to host the World Telugu Conference (WTC) being organised by the Telangana government on Friday and the five-day event will be inaugurated by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan and his Maharashtra counterpart Ch Vidyasagar Rao are also expected to participate in the inaugural programme.

On December 19, President Ram Nath Kovind would be the chief guest at the valedictory function of the WTC which will be held at LB stadium.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made in view of the VIPs arriving in the city.

3,000 police personnel have been deployed in this regard.

Nearly 8,000 delegates and representatives have registered to attend the World Telugu Conference.

Discussions and talks on Telugu literature and culture will be held with stalls set up to showcase the history of Telangana, its literature, handicrafts, temples and coins.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, along with Telangana cabinet officials have held several review meetings over the event.
