Hyderabad is among fastest growing cities: KTR
IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao said that Hyderabad was among the fastest growing cities in India.
Hyderabad: IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao said that Hyderabad was among the fastest growing cities in India.
Addressing a meeting at Qutubullahpur on Saturday, the Minister said that the Telangana Government has been taking measures to develop all areas and therefore, area level programmes were being conducted to identify and resolve local problems. He said the population of Hyderabad would get doubled in the next one or two decades. Therefore, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was being strengthened to meet the future needs. He said the Circles in the GHMC limits have been increased so as to provide better services to the people.
KTR said that the crime rate and Law & Order situation was under control in Hyderabad. He said nearly 22,000 municipal staff has been deployed for cleaning the city. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has laid special focus on construction of one lakh double bed room houses for weaker sections. He also assured that all phases of Metro Rail would be completed in the next one year and there is a proposal to extend the Metro Rail services till international airport.
The minister also listed out other measures being taken by the government for development of Hyderabad.
GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
