Hyderabad: Member of Congress Legislature Party and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly K Jana Reddy resumed duties after a gap of one month, as he was recuperating from ill health, he attended the CLP office on Friday. 

Jana Reddy was hospitalised in a private hospital on November 16 for infection and underwent treatment for about 20 days. Jana Reddy said he was still taking medicines. Reddy had left for Delhi on Friday to participate in the event were Rahul Gandhi will officially take charge as the President of the party on Saturday. 

Speaking to the media, along with Deputy Floor Leader of Congress in Council P Sudhakar Reddy at the CLP office, Jana Reddy said that he was unable to attend the World Telugu Conference due to other exigencies.

He said that he loves Telugu language and strongly believes in the fact that Telugu is the best language among others. He wished that the conference becomes a success. He said Rahul Gandhi had decided to continue the legacy of sacrifices of his family and became party president. Rahul has not taken the offers to become Prime Minister several times.

Sonia Gandhi, in her 19-year tenure as party president, fought to keep the party intact. She also succeeded in protecting the pride of Nehru family and made sure that the party never got a bad mark, he said.
