Hyderabad: BC Welfare Minister Jogu Ramanna and Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav laid the foundation stone for the construction of a modern Dhobi Ghat at Sikh Village in Secunderabad on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Jogu Ramanna informed that the modern Dhobi Ghat would be constructed at a cost of Rs. 60 lakh. He said that many washermen were getting affected with skin diseases. Therefore, he said that the State Government was providing washing machines to washermen to keep them health. He said the washermen would also be trained in operating those machines.

The minister said that the Backward Classes Corporation would install the machines at a cost of Rs. 60 lakh.

Secunderabad Cantonment MLA G. Sainna and other senior officials were also present.
