NHIA approves Rs. 938 Cr for new roads in Telangana
The National Highways Authority of India (NHIA) has approved the proposal for the construction of new roads in Telangana State at a cost of Rs. 938 crore.
Hyderabad: The National Highways Authority of India (NHIA) has approved the proposal for the construction of new roads in Telangana State at a cost of Rs. 938 crore.
Roads & Buildings Department Engineer-in-Chief Ravinder Rao held a meeting on Saturday and directed the officials to begin acquisition of land for the construction of approved roads. He informed that the NHIA has approved three major roads. They include six-laning of 9.9 km stretch from Aramgarh to Shamshabad on Hyderabad-Bengaluru NH 44 at a cost of Rs. 263 crore.
Similarly, 15.9 km stretch on Hyderabad-Narsapur- Medak national highway would be converted into four lanes at a cost of Rs. 430 crore. Likewise, Rs. 244 crore will be spent for construction of two-lane road on 35 km stretch from Warangal to Mulug on Bhopalpatnam National Highway.
Meanwhile, R&B Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao said that the Centre has approved the new roads due to constant representations made by the State Government. He said these works would be completed soon.
Tummala said that the State Government got Central approvals for works worth Rs. 15,000 during the last three years. He also informed that the process of land acquisition has been completed for construction of new Collectorates for 26 districts. However, he said the works were yet to begin for construction of Medak, Rangareddy, Bhupalpalle, Sircilla and Mahabubabad collectorates. He directed the Collectors to expedite the works and overcome all delays.
